"In Santa Marta, we hiked through jungle like terrain and ended on a pristine beach with gorgeous cliffs, which made me feel like we travelled into an episode of "Lost."
What's your favorite food? Mom's legendary spaghetti and meatballs.
What's your favorite song? My morning wake-up consists of me rocking out in the shower with Billy Joel - so "Still Rock and Roll" would be my choice since it transforms me from cranky to happy daily.
What's your favorite restaurant in NYC? Dos Toros! They use really fresh ingredients for their burritos, which makes them ever more delicious. It also has hosted many catch-up chats for me with Alue co-founder Case Watson.
Any recent travel highlights? I just got back from Colombia, which was an incredible trip with some friends. We traveled to Bogota, Santa Marta, and Cartagena. Bogota, the capital, has incredible mountains surrounding the city and we trekked to the peak of one to get incredible views of the city. In Santa Marta, we hiked through jungle like terrain and ended on a pristine beach with gorgeous cliffs, which made me feel like we travelled into an episode of "Lost." Following these excursions, we stayed in Cartagena, an old city that has great Spanish architecture and a rich history.
Have you read any good books lately? I just read the Dennis Lehane novels "The Given Day" and "Live by Night", both of which were excellent historical novels about my hometown of Boston. Books are my favorite creative escapes.
Any exciting projects coming up for 2013 / 2014 we should be on the lookout for? I look forward to helping Alue continue it's success! Additionally, I am co-founding a start-up called Perkla, the first site for students to get all of their online discounts located in one place, with a simple sign-on to automatically receive discounts on the web's best brands and services.
